The Missed Calls of Dolly (2024)
Video installation, AI technology, digital print wallpaper, Multi-channel videos
Composed of multiple video segments
The Missed Calls of Dolly invokes the figure of Dolly the cloned sheep to explore how AI technologies construct subjectivity through unstable acts of replication, interruption and absence. Generated images derived from the artist’s own portrait are produced, broken and reassembled, resulting in a presence that can never be fully reproduced.
The work treats the digital body as an endlessly replicated yet perpetually incomplete entity, exposing a prefigured ethical crisis embedded in systems that reproduce without ever guaranteeing wholeness.
